Heading into the winter months brings darker nights, cooler weather and the dreaded cold and flu. From a workplace perspective cold and flu then leads to increases sickness levels and reduced productivity for those who can make it to the office.
From 2019, the risk of COVID-19 has been at the forefront of everything we do and with cold and flu doing the rounds, it can be hard to tell the difference. Managing cold and flu can be difficult, but all you can do is try your hardest to create a happy and healthy work environment.
Covid 19 / flu jabs
COVID-19 testing has become mandatory at some workplaces and advised at others. By encouraging the use of regular COVID-19 testing, as a workplace you’ll be able to manage & limit any outbreaks.
Flu jabs can help prevent the flu symptom and the possibility of it being contracted in the first place.
Germ Free Workspaces
I’d say we’ve become accustomed to using hand sanitiser and anti-bacterial wipes, so keeping the workplace and shared surfaces clean is at the top of the list.
Being mindful is the way of the office, so between touching surfaces and using communal spaces sanitise your hands for the safety of you and other.
A workload shared is a workload halved
Being able to share the workload when things get tough, is the sign of a good team! Workplace burnout is a common experienced and is a result of working long hours with a never ending workload.
Being busy is great, but that’s when it’s balanced with breaks and lunches, the day is split evenly giving you the time you need to unwind and rest your mind.
Healthy and well being can’t be pushed to the side and it’s important that you look after yourself as well as others. This winter, be extra cautious to keep the workplace germfree and healthy!
